Grade 3
We are a diverse group of 19 eager and energetic learners who come from Korea, the U.S., Poland, Greece, the UK, Germany, Japan, India, Australia, and Canada. They each bring their unique perspective to the classroom and work together everyday to grow as thinkers and inquirers.
We study subject areas - Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Art, ICT - through six transidisciplinary themes of the PYP program. Where possible, these subjects are integrated into our units of inquiry. Our units of inquiry for the year are Who's in Charge?; Journeys: Exploration and Discovery; Forces; Give and Take: Conflict Resolution; Natural Disasters; Ideas, Imagine, Create!
We are currently inquiring into natural disasters and their effects on communities around the world. We will conduct a case study of the disasters in Chile and Haiti and create a newscast informing others about the causes of the disaster, the aftermath, and what people can do to help.
