Administration Staff
Stephen is in his eighth year as Principal at ISB. Previously he held the same position at the Cilegon International School in Indonesia. He has been working in international schools for 15 years and has around 30 years of teaching experience encompassing all ages. Interests range from sport to folk dance to anything scientific.
Kevin is from England and has been an educator in international schools in Korea, Costa Rica, Tanzania and Kenya for over 20 years. His interests include visual and performance arts, and he enjoys exploring the local arts and music scene.
Karen is from England, having earned her teaching qualifications at Birmingham University, England. She has been teaching for more than 20 years, 10 of which have been in international schools around the world. Karen enjoys participating in English folk music and dance, and she likes to read and eat out, trying the many restaurants available in Busan.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Jeff has worked in a number of secondary schools in Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. Prior to arriving in Busan, he worked in a British curriculum school in the United Arab Emirates. His hobbies include cycling, mountain walking, canoeing and all things to do with technology and gadgets.
Alistair is from Melbourne, Australia. He has been teaching for 24 years. He has a breath of experience both in the classroom and in administration. His teaching areas are Geography and History with a special interest in the Pastoral Care of students. He has worked at a number of large Independent day and boarding schools in Australia where he recently was Head of Geelong Grammar School's, Timbertop Campus. He has also run and worked in a number of academic departments and boarding houses in various Australian schools. He has greatly enjoyed his time at ISB to this point and hopes to live and work in Korea for some time to come.
John is originally from the UK. On graduating he set out to see some of the world and began his teaching career in New Zealand and Polynesia. Later he received an officer's commission in the Royal New Zealand Navy in which he served ten diverse and exciting years; including five as Principal of the Academic School, picked up a degree in Russian and met his now wife Tatiana. Australia followed, including stints as Deputy Principal at the Kooralbyn International School and Principal of Nauru High School (an island in the Pacific Ocean). Thirty years and more later, since departing the shores of the UK, he has also worked and studied in Finland, Russia, Turkey and the USA and is now settling into life at ISB in Korea where he teaches both High Level Mathematics and Physics in the Diploma Program.
Originally from the UK, Myles is in his fourth year at ISB and has worked in education for almost twenty years. He has taught all age groups from Kindergarten to High School and even adults when working at a university. He is very interested in online technologies and has spent six years as a professional web project manager working on some major music and elearning sites, such as www.philharmonia.co.uk for one of the world's top orchestras. In addition to directing the music programme at ISB Myles is leading the introduction of the IB Middle Years Programme and coordinating online developments at ISB (see the ISB Creative tab on this site).
Hyun Joo has been working as the ISB accounts manager since 2002 and is fluent in Korean, English and French.
Seunghee is from Busan, Korea. For a year, she worked at the Mexican Embassy in Seoul. Simultaneously, she taught Spanish at the educational centres of Hyundai, LG and Samsung. She was also a Spanish-English translator at SK. After many years of working in different organizations, she began a new and fun career being a part-time Playgroup teacher assistant here at ISB starting in 2003. Beginning with the 2006 - 2007 school year, Mrs. Lee is now an ELC secretary. During her free time, she takes pleasure in wandering around downtown shopping and relaxing.
Jina is from Busan, Korea. She has been with ISB for many years now. She started working as a Playgroup Assistant whilst helping in the library as well. Jina currently enjoys doing office work being the ELC secretary. Although she prefers to keep a busy schedule being a Mum and a colleague, Jina always finds time to play with her dog.
Seung Mi is from Busan, Korea. She enjoys her position as Admissions Secretary at ISB. In her spare time she likes to read, travel and go swimming. She prefers to live in Haeundae than any other city.
Mi Kyung has been working at ISB as an accounts secretary since 2007. Prior to arriving at ISB, she worked at an accounting firm for four years. In her spare time, Mi Kyung enjoys traveling around the world and sampling different foods.
