In the Middle School at ISB, we are committed to making a learning environment that caters to the needs of every student. Our texts, together with various other modern resources, help to create a classroom that is consistently equitable for every student.
The Middle School follows the Cambridge Checkpoint curriculum, and uses an IB Middle Years Programme text to deliver the curriculum contents. The Checkpoint system revisits four central concepts over the course of middle school: number, algebra, geometry, and data handling. Throughout
the Middle School Programme students continually add to their knowledge in these areas and, by the end of Grade 8, have a consolidated understanding of all the central mathematical foundations, leaving them better prepared for the challenges present in the High School Mathematics Programme.
Nearing the end of their final year, students sit the Cambridge Checkpoint Examination, before moving on to Grade 9, where they begin the Cambridge IGCSE Programme.
