Retake Policy Agreements

General
The retake policy is subject specific with each department providing guidelines
All aspects of the retake process are subject to the professional judgement of the teacher.
Retakes are allowed for formative and summative assessments in order to improve student learning and results
Specific strands or parts of assessments can be retaken when long-term assignments or large projects are involved
Retakes options will have a cutoff date – there is a requirement for students to show that they have prepared for the retake (i.e., attending extra help sessions, relearning of concepts)
Retakes should be taken during break, lunch, after school or a combination of these.
Student retakes are tracked and repeated retakes will result in conferencing with parents.
