The week has been busier than normal! It has certainly been the week for visits from many Universities throughout the world, but predominately the USA. On Tuesday we had a visit from Temple University – Philadelphia, USA. We had a solid number of students spend time chatting with their representatives. On Wednesday, 14 September, was the visit to BIFS from Linden Educational Services. In the MHS Hall we were fortunate enough to have a ‘mini’ College Fair. Linden Educational Services organised for the following Universities from the USA to be available to answer any questions students might have had about attending College in the USA. All students in the Middle and High School were welcome to attend.

The following universities were present:

Oklahoma State
Miami University – Ohio
California Baptist
Michigan State
Alma College
Kansas State
San Jose State University
University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire
Saint Joseph’s University
Columbia College – Chicago
Ball State University
Arizona State University

We finished the week with a visit from Binghamton University – SUNY.  Again, a small number of enthusiastic students spent time with their representatives.

On Tuesday evening we welcomed parents from the Middle and High School onto Campus for our annual ‘Back to School’ night. Teachers had spent a great deal of time preparing presentations for parents that aimed to give all in attendance a clear understanding of the nature of each subject being taught. Parents followed a grade level’s schedule – meeting and greeting teachers throughout the night. We had approximately 60 parents join us on the night. It was by all accounts, a great success.

On Thursday, our High School Volleyball players ventured to Daegu International School for the SKAC Divisional tournament. Considering our students have only been training for little over a month, they did very well indeed. Ms Plicka is Head Coach of the boy’s team and Mr Johnston is Head Coach of the girl’s team.
