This was the first competitive tournament for the BIFS Junior Varsity Team and one that we used to establish the areas within our game we needed to develop.A jolly and enthusiastic volleyball team departed from Busan arriving at Daegu International School shortly before our first game against BFS.

Boys Junior Varsity Team
Despite having an early lead of some 12 points, BFS fought back taking the game by 6 points completing a remarkable comeback.Following our first game, we quickly changed our tactics and implemented new formations and strategies. These are now featuring heavily in our practices for the next tournament in October. The tournament also allowed some players to try new positions and develop their understanding of the game. All players contributed on the day with everyone giving 100%. As a coach, I could not have asked for more. The enthusiasm of the players even allowed an extra to game to be squeezed in between the tournament games. The hunger, open-mindedness, and commitment of my players is to be commended. As we pulled the bus away from the school the BIFS Junior Varsity Volleyball Team had won one game and narrowly lost three.  I’m sure with the positive player attitudes, commitment, and focus we will be a force to be reckoned with come the championship tournament in October.

Girls Junior Varsity
The Girls Junior Varsity team travelled to Daegu to complete in the SKAC volleyball tournament. At the tournament the competition was fierce as we battled against four other schools. While the results indicate that we only won one match and lost three, the scores were generally much closer. The highlight for the team was no doubt our come from behind victory against KFS. Down by 18 points at one stage, the girls rallied to eventually win by 10 – a great turnaround victory!
