Beginner Fitness Running Monday This is a beginner fitness running course for anyone who needs/wants to have an hour of fitness per week yet doesn’t want to feel as if they have to commit to a sport long term. 8-10
Dance (Grade 8 ONLY) Monday This activity will let you explore k-pop and contemporary dance, there will be 2 performances where the dance styles are mixed with pieces of different kinds of music. The Choreographies will be inspired by k-pop groups like EXO, BTS and 4Minute along with contemporary. Participants are asked to stay dedicated as the choreographies will be formed based on the number of participants. The difficulty is intermediate, but anyone is welcome to join. 15
ABRSM Music Theory Monday This CCA is for students who would like to learn about music theory or improve their music theory knowledge. We will be studying the ABRSM Grade 1 syllabus and prepare for the Grade 1 theory exam that will be held on March 25th, 2016.

Students are encouraged to sit for the Grade 1 ABRSM music theory exam, but do not have to. For more information visit www.abrsm.co.kr

Indoor Gardening Monday Helping the BIFS community by educating students about the environment and planting a garden 8
FLL Monday and Wednesday (NO new members, must sign up for both days) We are looking for very committed students who will enter a national competition as a team and travel to Seoul in late January to participate. Students who participate in this elective will be expected to accompany us on this exciting journey. This elective involves teamwork to design, create and program a LEGO robot to complete missions and also to complete a research project together as a team. 70,000KRW (Does not include travel to Seoul)
Design (Grade 8 ONLY) Monday and/or Wednesday Designing and making products for the school and staff. NOTE this is not about making personal items it is a Service CCA 6
Boys and Girls Volleyball Monday and Wednesday BIFS Athletics belongs to the SKAC and KISAC conferences. Individuals are required to attend all practices 2 times per week. Practices run from 3:30-5:00pm. Students from Ulsan and Geoje are asked to make transportation arrangements to attend the full practice times if possible. Please discuss with the coaches any changes to the transportation arrangements. 200,000 KRW Athletics fee (non-refundable), plus additional travel fees. Please do not pay for Athletics until you have received the parent permission with any additional travel fees added.
Orchestra Tuesday BIFS Orchestra is open to all students who play violin, viola, cello, double bass, trumpet, trombone, french horn, tuba, baritone, clarinet, flute, oboe, saxophone and any percussion instrument (timpani, xylophone, snare drum, bass drum, triangle and cymbals) for at least 3 years. The Orchestra performs at various school events and concerts, such as the BIWA Bazaar, School Graduation, and other concerts.

No audition required!

Creative Drama Tuesday This is an opportunity to create drama using the actor’s tools of voice, body and mind. An exploratory more than performance based.
Chess Tuesday For players of all grades and levels of experience 20
Choir Wednesday Choir is open to all students who enjoy singing or would like to learn how to sing. The choir performs at various school events and concerts throughout the year. Students interested in attending the ISCMS music festival should sign up for choir. No audition required. 40
TOPIK prep Wednesday This is a Korean language class to prepare the TOPIK test which is an official Korean proficiency test. This is open to students and parents/guardians who are in intermediate level in Korean. If you are not sure your Korean level, Ms. Kwon will give you a level test before you join in. 10
Academic Coaching Wednesday/Friday Academic coaching in a variety of subjects is available twice a week. Students in Grades 6-11 will work with hand-picked students attaining high academic grades in the I.B. Diploma. The coaching program will be coordinated by BIFS teachers. 6 on Weds

Tennis Friday This activity is limited to 10 students on a first come first serve basis. There are mixed levels usually. For students who do not need a bus ride the activity will continue until 5 pm. On rainy days we will watch tennis videos. 10
Orchestra – Sectional Rehearsal Friday Friday sectional rehearsals are open to students who are unable to attend the Tuesday Main Orchestra rehearsal. BIFS Orchestra is open to all students who play violin, viola, cello, double bass, trumpet, trombone, french horn, tuba, baritone, clarinet, flute, oboe, saxophone and any percussion instrument (timpani, xylophone, snare drum, bass drum, triangle and cymbals) for at least 3 years. The Orchestra performs at various school events and concerts, such as the BIWA Bazaar, School Graduation, and other concerts. No audition required! 40
Beginning Band Friday Beginning Band is open to students who would like to learn how to play flute, clarinet, saxophone or trumpet in a fun group environment. This CCA is for beginners who have never played any of these instruments before or, or have been learning an instrument for a few months. Instruments can be rented from school for KRW 50,000. Students need to own or rent an instrument in order to take part in beginning band. This is a continuation from Beginning Band Season I, however, new students welcome. 140,000 KRW 10
Art extension Friday Art extension is an opportunity for students to create art in any medium they choose for any purpose they wish: this can be extra time for MYP/DP art students to pursue classroom projects or students not taking art to let their inner artist bloom

Chess Tuesday For players of all Grades and levels of experience None 20
High School Musical – The Play Tuesday and Friday (MUST sign up for both days) This will be a student led production that will bring the famous “High School Musical” by Disney to BIFS towards the end of this school year! There will be auditions very soon, so please join us and we’ll make sure you’ll spend a great time with the production throughout season 2 and 3 of this school year! We also need some talented people that play musical instruments that could help us with the songs of the play. You will be contacted by email once you sign up and you will be informed about the auditions asap! 20/25
Boys and Girls Basketball Tuesday and Friday (MUST sign up for both days) BIFS Athletics belongs to the SKAC, KISAC and AISA (Varsity only) conferences. Individuals are required to attend all practices 2-3 times per week, Tuesday’s, Friday’s and some Saturday’s. Practices run from 3:30-5:30pm. Students from Ulsan and Geoje are asked to make transportation arrangements to attend the full practice times. Please discuss with the coaches the transportation arrangements. Mandatory travel to tournaments in Japan and Jeju will be required for the Varsity teams only.

As BIFS is now a part of the AISA league, which homestays students at tournaments, every student who signs up for a HS sport will be required to host a travelling student (based on gender) at least once per year. This may not necessarily mean in the season the student athlete participates in. A google form will be sent explaining the details of hosting students and sign ups for when BIFS will be hosting events. MUN Wednesday New members are welcome to join if they sign up for the GECMUN conference which is in February. This conference is perfect for new members as there is less preparation needed. Parents must complete the permission form.

New members cannot join for SKACMUN in November.
