Great kids doing wonderful things!
Middle and High School Cross Country
SKAC MHS X-country #2 @ DIS
The Middle and High School Cross Country team continued their wonderful season with another dominant display in Daegu. All members of the team ran superbly and represented the school and themselves, with great pride. As usual, they were fine ambassadors for the school.
High School Girls Volleyball
KISAC HS Girls VolleyBall @ KISJ/SJA
Great success for the girls Volleyball team over the weekend on Jeju – they have brought back to ISB, yet another piece of ‘silverware’! Congratulations to the girls for a fine performance!
Grade 9 – To Kill a Mockingbird Presentations
Last Thursday, I was lucky enough to see students in grade 9 deliver their presentations on ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’. The presentations were the result of research, participation in group conversations, individual reflection on the book as well as working together as a pair. The presentations were delivered with great confidence and poise. My congratulations to all involved.
Grade 8 Beach Cleanup
Last Friday morning I accompanied the students in Grade 8 with the regular clean-up of Songjeong beach. Mrs Vaughan, Head of Science at ISB, established this tradition a number of years ago – ISB contributing to not only the local community but also raising awareness to our students, of the importance of caring for the environment. Sadly, but as usual, we managed to fill at least 5, 100 litre, government bags of rubbish. We had great fun working towards a cleaner environment!
Middle & High School Play
Wednesday last week, Ms Sandberg and her budding group of thespians, were put through their paces at one of their final dress rehearsals of the Middle and High School play. The performances were filled with humour and clever acting. It was so nice to see students from both the Middle and High School coming together to bring the theatre back to ISB! There will be two performances this year – one for the students and the other specifically for parents and family members. The two dates are indicated below. Watch this space for more details of the performances as they come to light!
MHS Play performance – period 4, Friday 7 December. Middle school students attending.
MHS Play – Friday 7 December, 6-8pm, Elementary School Hall. Parent and Family performance
Middle School Soccer Tournament
SKAC MS Soccer Final @ HIS
Last Wednesday, November 14, the Middle School soccer players travelled to Handong for their SKAC Tournament. As usual, they performed superbly. Their behaviour both on and off the field was impeccable – a credit to both the players and the coaches. As you can see, they certainly enjoyed themselves.
Mr Gysbers has loaded all of the MAP results into student’s Portfolios on ManageBac. Parents can access the results by opening the student’s portfolio page and looking for the file that ends in “MAP Fall 2018.pdf”. The students can also access this through their Portfolio page.
