MYP Information Night
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the first of many information sessions for parents. We will try and mix around where and when we have these sessions so that as many members of your family can attend. We recognise that it is difficult for busy, working parents to attend all sessions offered, but we hope that throughout the year we see you at BIFS. We have scheduled information sessions to be at night, usually between 6.30pm and 8.00pm, during the mornings at our Secondary School Coffee mornings and for longer sessions when Parent/Student/Teacher conferences are held during the day.
The first Information night will be on developing a greater understanding of the Middle Years Programme(MYP). Ms Montague, our MYP Coordinator, will walk you through the basic structure of the MYP, how it works, outline the various forms of assessment and how that is reported, as well as answer any questions that you might have about the MYP.
Please join us in Middle and High School C-building, on the 5th floor Hall at 6.30pm – 8.00pm. Wednesday, 29th of August for ‘What is the MYP’?

BIFS Running Club
My name is Bailey Miller and I am a grade 11 student. As many of you are aware, last year I started a running club for people wishing to increase fitness and gain a training program for running. We took the summer break off and now this club is going to be starting up again! For those of you who are new to the school or didn’t join last year, my dad is a certified coach by the Catholic Youth Organization in track, and was also a coach for USATF cross country. I am very passionate about running and this club is a great way for me to share my love of the sport to those who want to learn, or just increase their skills. We mostly stick to intervals and speed work each week, and ANYONE is welcome to join. There is no fee to join, and the only thing to keep in mind is that this is not a walking club so some level of fitness in running is required. We welcome anyone that is 7 years old to adults, so parents are free to join as well! Our main goal is to increase your fitness, teach you the foundations of running, and help you enjoy the sport by reaching your full potential, or as a way to train for the other sports you may do. The location is the Marina directly across from Ipark. We meet in the center near the basketball courts. The time we meet this year is 10 am on Sunday, starting September 9th. I can provide an image or a map to those of you who wish to join. Please email me if you are interested in joining at email@example.com
