Thursday, 21 October saw the SKAC High School Volleyball championship hosted at BIFS.The teams were the same as those who had taken part in the Daegu tournament earlier in the season. The BIFS boys were only able to finish fourth on that occasion. This time, however, the script was yet to be written.
Despite losing the opening two games to HIS and BFS the team took to the remaining games with determination and focus producing some excellent volleyball. Their hard work and focus paying off progressing to the semi-final against BFS. The BFS team was a team that they had not beaten all season. A team hungry for revenge took to the court and the commitment levels were rewarded with a convincing win and a final against HIS.

After some well needed, rest the boys stepped out aginst a large HIS team and took a tight first set. Some amazing and exceptionally high-quality volleyball continued and a worried HIS narrowly took the second set forcing a third and final set. HIS produce some of the best shots of the day that proved a step too far and quickly rushed to the first place trophy. The exhausted BIFS boys had given it their all and achieved an honorable second place

It was an amazing end to what has been a brilliant season. Each player contributed to the success and had clearly improved in experience and ability. It will be interesting to see what we can do next year.!!!!

Wel,l what a superb performance. While we did not come away with any silverware, the girls played superbly. The improvement in the girl’s commitment, skill level, and team play was on “show” for all to see. They rallied time and time again to ensure they fought every point out to the end. Twice they came back from a set down to win in three. At the end of the preliminary rounds, they had recorded 3 wins with only 1 loss. They lost their first semi-final match defeated by HIS, losing the third set 10-15. Unfortunately, by the time the playoff for 3 and 4 came around, the girls were exhausted. They have developed into a fighting, determined and strong team.
