Educational Technology
At ISB, we don’t view technology as a separate subject, but as a foundational literacy. We aim to develop Digitally Literate Learners who effectively use technology to create meaningful content and communicate their learning. Our definition of success is built on four essential pillars:
-
Skillful: They are proficient with a wide range of digital tools.
-
Critical: They think deeply about the content they create, share, and consume.
-
Contributing: They ethically and purposefully contribute to online and offline communities.
-
Mindful: They mindfully choose when to connect and disconnect, managing their digital lives to support their own well-being
Our Three Learning Strands
-
Contemporary Skills
We equip students with the mindset to thrive in a modern professional landscape. Following the ISTE Standards, ISB students become Empowered Learners and Global Collaborators. This means they don't just use tools, they use technology to organize their lives, manage complex projects in online environments, and curate a professional digital identity that prepares them for life beyond ISB.
-
Computational Thinking & Innovation
We believe every student should understand the "logic of the machine." Rather than just teaching coding in isolation, we integrate computational thinking across the curriculum. Whether a student is building a mathematical model, designing a solution in the MYP Design cycle, or exploring logic-based play in the Early Years, they are learning to break down complex problems and design innovative solutions.

Technology for Teaching and Learning
Technology at ISB turns the classroom into a dynamic, student-centered environment. We use digital technologies to provide instant feedback, personalize instruction for diverse learners, and connect our students with authentic global audiences. Our focus is on Screen Value: ensuring that every digital interaction adds depth and meaning to the learning experience.
