After School Activities
At the International School of Busan, our After School Activities (ASA) program is designed to offer broad, balanced, and meaningful opportunities that support the development of the whole child. Rooted in our Vision and Mission, the ASA program encourages students to explore their interests, passions, and potential beyond the classroom while promoting digital literacy, creativity, collaboration, and global citizenship. We aim to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where students can develop strong relationships, build confidence, and enjoy experiences that foster resilience, self-regulation, and personal growth.
Our After School Activities (ASAs) are thoughtfully organized into five distinct categories, each intentionally aligned with our school’s guiding statements. These categories reflect our commitment to nurturing knowledgeable, principled, and open-minded global citizens through diverse, inclusive, and innovative learning experiences that promote creativity, wellbeing, and sustainable action.

Academic Enrichment & Digital Literacy
This category offers opportunities for students to extend their learning beyond the classroom. Through academic challenges, study support, and digital skill-building, students are encouraged to think critically, solve problems, and engage with technology in meaningful ways, helping them become knowledgeable and digitally literate life-long learners.

Creative & Performing Arts
Opportunities for self-expression through music, drama, dance, media, and visual arts. These activities celebrate creativity, encourage collaboration, and help students appreciate cultural diversity while fostering emotional confidence and artistic identity.

Physical Wellness & Athletics
A wide range of individual and team-based activities promoting fitness, wellbeing, and positive sportsmanship. These programs support healthy lifestyles, emotional regulation, perseverance, and leadership through physical engagement.

Service, Leadership & Sustainability (SLS)
This category includes experiences that inspire students to lead with integrity, serve their communities, and contribute to a sustainable future. Through action, advocacy, and compassion, students become principled, responsible global citizens. As a proud recipient of the Green Flag Award, ISB is committed to maintaining high standards in environmental responsibility. This award reflects our ongoing dedication to sustainability and strengthens our students’ understanding of their role in shaping a better world.

Cultural & Language Enrichment
Activities that nurture intercultural understanding and linguistic growth. Students explore global traditions, languages, and identities, building open-mindedness, empathy, and respect for multiple perspectives
SchoolsBuddy is the management system that ISB uses to allow parents to sign their children up for ASAs. SchoolsBuddy is split up into three containers: Season 1, Season 2, and Season 3. ASA Sign-up typically takes place three weeks before the start of the season to allow families to talk through the available options to make informed decisions. SchoolsBuddy operates using a preference-based sign-up model, which fairly allocates students into their chosen ASAs.
