Sports, Activities & Field Trips
ISB is dedicated to a holistic educational journey. Our sports and athletics program, alongside a variety of clubs and activities, foster traits like collaboration and resilience. These offerings complement our curriculum with field trips and off-campus experiences, enhancing global awareness and cultural insights. After-school activities and our 'Service as Action' initiative allow students to explore personal interests and engage in meaningful community service, reinforcing our commitment to active citizenship. We also offer internships with local organizations, providing practical experiences that develop professional skills. In essence, our approach aims to cultivate not just academic prowess but globally aware, thoughtful individuals ready to positively impact the world.
Student Life at ISB
The goal is to ensure that our Athletics program thrives with integrity, excellence, and inclusivity. We are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment where students can excel in their chosen pursuits, discover new passions, and unlock their full potential. Our passionate and dedicated coaching staff, along with our talented teaching faculty, are committed to guiding our students and supporting their individual journeys.
ISB is a member of SKAC (Southern Korean Activities Conference) and a founding member of EAISAC (East Asia International Sports and Activities Conference). Sports tournaments and academic activities are scheduled throughout the year, with other member schools.
The East Asian International Activities Conference (EAISAC) is an international athletics and activities conference which provides opportunities for students to travel to Busan in Korea, Fukuoka and Nagoya in Japan and Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia.
After School Activities
Our Philosophy of After School Activities (ASA’s) at the International School of Busan, is focused around the holistic development of our students, fostering their physical, intellectual, and social growth. Our ASA Program aims to offer between 50 and 60 activities per season to ensure that our students have a wide range of broad and balanced options to choose from. These ASA’s provide our students with opportunities to explore their interests, develop new talents and forge lifelong friendships.
Our mission is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students can pursue their passions, whether it be on the field, court, stage, or in the classroom. At ISB, we believe that participating in a broad and balanced ASA program offers students unique avenues for self-discovery, personal growth, and the development of valuable life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and creativity.
SchoolsBuddy is the management system that ISB uses to allow parents to sign their children up for ASA’s. SchoolsBuddy is split up into three containers, Season 1, Season 2 and Season 3. ASA Sign-up typically takes place 3 weeks before the start of the season to allow families to talk through the available options to make informed decisions. SchoolsBuddy operates using a preference based sign-up model, which fairly allocates students into their chosen ASA’s.
